Melbourne musician Tash Sultana has been forced to delay her sold-out European tour after an airline error sent her gear to Singapore, rather than Berlin.
After 32 hours in transit, Sultana stepped off her Jetstar flight to discover her equipment, including two guitars and two pedal boards worth thousand of dollars, hadn’t arrived.
“It seems that Jetstar Australia have incorrectly tagged all four pieces of my music equipment,” the musician wrote on her Facebook page, adding that it appeared to have gone no further “no further than Singapore.”
“All of my other stuff came through very damaged in Berlin,” she wrote.
“This is completely unacceptable.”
Sultana is scheduled to play at the Badehaus in Berlin tonight but may have to postpone the show if her “one of a kind” rig fails to surface in time.
After reaching to her fans for help and attempting to contact the airline across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram she discovered the gear was sitting on the floor of Singapore International Airport.
Jetstar has since clarified the baggage was tagged correctly, but missed an onwards connection from Singapore onto another airline.
“We’re working with local teams in Singapore to get your baggage onto the next available flight, so we’ll keep in touch with you directly,” a spokesperson wrote in the comments section of one of the musician’s Facebook posts.
Sultan told one fan on her page she was “still remaining calm” and hoping for a miracle.
Fingers crossed the problem is sorted out soon.
