One woman loses her life to Ovarian Cancer every eight hours. And it’s a statistic that needs to change.
Of the 1500 women who are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, sadly, 1000 will die. But for women who are diagnosed early: there is an 80% chance of survival.
Ovarian Cancer statistics are scary. There’s no denying that. But with increased awareness of the symptoms, we can change the statistics.

If you have an annual checkup then INSIST that your GP palpate your abdomen. Not guaranteed to locate a tumour but it takes two minutes and could be a life-saver. I have been living with OC for the past five years, in remission fortunately and low grade.

Early detection is key. Awareness will go a small way, research is what is needed to develop a valid screening program. We need to support research. Breast cancer survival rates have increased since mammograms.
