Credit cards at the ready friends, Myer and David Jones have come out with particularly nice-to-look-at Spring collections.

If you’re a department store shopper, last week was a probably a pretty good one. First we had Miranda Kerr and friends first showing us what we will be able to buy soon at David Jones.

Next up, Myer unveiled their Spring/Summer collection, with Jennifer Hawkins convincing us that yes, we could consider wearing out-there prints next season. Did I sound believable there? Did I? Okay let’s try again. Maybe we might, if we’re feeling really brave, try buying a small printed t-shirt. Better.

We can’t decide what’s more fun. The red carpet shots or the runway shots, so here is a gallery of both:

Jennifer Hawkins at the Myer Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Launch in Sydney

At Myer, Jen did her thing and made an entrance in a Toni Maticevski outfit, which probably costs more than my car, but was really quite lovely. Jayson Brunsdon, Ellery, sass & bide and Manning Cartell were among the other Australian designers who featured in the opening, while celebs; Alicia Coutts, Axle Whitehead, Jesinta Campbell and Sarah De Bono from The Voice attended Myer’s Sydney show. What fun.

Based on both shows, I predict that Spring is going to be: Bright. Colourful. Wearable (gasp!).

Why is Target never mentioned in these types of articles. They’re right on trend with floral prints.

I hate to be one of those annoying correctors – but image 7, Olympic medalist is Alicia Coutts not Alicia Clout

Still lots of dark colors considering it is the spring collection….love Jesinta in her floral dress, that to me epitomises spring, some of the other clothes looked a bit boring to me. I like the look of the flowy caftan dresses but at 5’5 best left to looking fab on the taller girls who really pull it off. Love Miranda, always stunning in my book. I have just discovered Asos and am addicted!!! Stunning floral, colorful dresses on sale due to opposing seasons, winner! I have gone up a size though as I heard that they are smaller sizing, has anyone else found this? My measurements had me at a UK size 12, normally an 8-10 in Australia depending on brand!

Love Jesinta’s dress too… Regarding Asos.. I haven’t had to go up a size before but they are a multi-brand retailer so sizes may differ across the different brands. Good luck! x

Every time I see the DJ/MYER Spring collection I think of the quote “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.” (Devil Wears Prada)
Always a bunch of floral pieces and a bikini that has some sort of weird cut-outs.

Regardless, all the girls look gorgeous – Miranda makes me want to go to the gym!
