I don’t even know where to begin. I have only ever vaguely brushed some mineral powder over my face as I don’t know how to apply foundation. I’m reading some of these comments and I don’t even know what concealer or primer is. I try to put on eyeshadow when I go to a wedding or something but it always wears away in the creases. *sigh*
Anyway I love mascara and that is usually all I wear to make me look less tired (as I have a 2yr old boy and a 9mth old boy).
I want to look all pretty and soft and pink. Maybe I should just buy the book and learn the tricks.

Seriously, all you need is a good cream blush, some mascara, and some lipgloss. If you are concerned about the texture/tone of your skin, then maybe add a tinted moisturiser.
If you pick colours that are close to your natural tones, then you will simply look ‘refreshed’. E.g .Being fair skinned with dark blonde hair and blue eyes, I always go for rosy pinks as that is the colour that comes up when I flush.

Would love to ask Zoe about bags and dark circles under my eyes – I’m only 19 but it’s a definite issue for me thanks to genetics – one side of my family all have bags and dark circles and it makes me look tired even when I’ve had lots of sleep! I love using mineral powder – but like to rub some moisteriser into my face first. When you put on the bronzer, brush a little more foundation powder over the top – it makes your cheeks look naturally glowing.
I experimented with my set I got from the Easter Show (called Bella Pierre – beautiful) and was told by a friend that I looked like I was glowing. I bought the eyeshadow in champagne, and when you put it on it falls just below your eyes and glitters. I love mineral makeup!
Also, matte lipstick is the best. I bought Revlon on a whim and love it!

Don’t waste your money on creams. The thing that will save you is good diet, early nights, no drugs, no stress, sunscreen and genetics.
It’s a physical impossibility for the creams ingredients to be absorbed into your skin. Some creams can change the texture of the skin slightly for brief periods, but the goodness has to come from the inside out.

Absolutely with you in regards to diet and exercise and sunscreen being the ultimate anti-aging/skincare product, but there are some creams that do physically improve the skin both in texture and tone. For example, retinol improves collagen production. Antioxidants work synergistically with sunscreen improving its efficacy and reducing inflammation which in turn contributes to the healthy functioning of the skin and its outward appearance. Furthermore, antioxidants mitigate to some extent the damage caused by free radicals. Free radical damage originates from environmental factors and unless things like dietary sources or topical applications are employed to cancel out some of the damage, cells are broken down and their ability function normally is impaired or destroyed.
You don’t need to spend mega $$$ on creams but certain compounds are beneficial for the skin.

For stubborn blackheads, nothing beats extraction, and it’s really fun! I know, I’m weird. Just be careful as too much pressure can cause scarring.

Love that brand. The sunscreen is fabulous in summer.
Using a good BHA (beta hydroxy acid) is an excellent product for blackheads as it exfoliates inside the pore as well as the surface of the skin and after a few days of use you can (gently!) squeeze out lots of gunk. Paula’s Choice do a great one.
I have been alternating one night Paula’s Choice 2% BHA gel, the other using Environ AHA toner, along with a good serum containing retinol (Environ AVST Level 1) and my blackheads have cleared up considerably, and otherwise my skin is like velvet. They are both awesome brands that aren’t crazy expensive.

I love my primer. It makes my make up stay all day. You can also get an amazing one from Face of Australia for about $10, which I found to be just as good as the Napoleon Perdis one.

Get some. You will love yourself sick. Your pores won’t show very much or at all with a good primer (that is, if you have huge pores like I do) and your makeup will stay on all day. I love the Napoleon one but lots if people do say that the FOA is just as good.

A beauty therapist told me not to use primer as it feels nice for a while but clogs up your skin and doesn’t allow it to actually breath so I have stopped using it.
