Despite the hype of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the Golden Globes this year, the show itself was strangely lacklustre. Not enough of the hosts and lots of winners nobody had heard of, perhaps?
Maybe it’s just us but we would have loved to just watch Tina and Amy riff for 2 hours.
Anyway. Other than these two memorable moments that everyone is talking about today, the focus was more firmly on the red carpet because THERE WAS JUST SO MUCH TO LOOK AT.
We’re picked our top 20 frocks and included some others for your consideration.
Take a look through our bumper red carpet gallery below:

Top 20: Lucy Liu
Now it’s time to pick your favourites and your least-favouites.
The fashion world contains more egos and opinions than the House of Representatives but broad consensus for best dressed includes: Emily Blunt, Helen Mirren, Kate Hudson, Lucy Liu, Zooey Deschanel and Nicole Richie.
We particularly liked:
Amy Adam’s frock. Less fishtail-style and more satellite-dish-style. She looked great. And receptive.
Lucy Liu. Her floral print dress and braided hair were winners. Gold medal certified winners.
Anne Hathaway. She was wearing a very pretty, very shiny, sparkly, elegant toilet roll. And rocked it.

My favourites were Lucy Liu, Emily Blunt, Michelle Dockery and Glenn Close, Kristen Bell, Zosia Mamet and Morena Baccarin.
Ariel Winter looks very sweet, the whole look is very age appropriate.
I think the dress Lena Dunham wore was beautifully designed and constructed but it just seemed way too heavy. It might have looked a little better on her if she had better posture.

Lena Dunham? Really? That dress was so unflattering on her. The bodice was bizarre and the skirt was too voluminous. J-Lo’s dress was just super-tacky, as seems to be par for the course for her. Lucy Liu looks like she’s wearing my grandmother’s couch covers. Seriously, the pattern is almost exactly the same.
I didn’t care for Amy Poehler’s pants suit but I liked the burgundy dress she wore during the show. I also really liked Jessica Alba’s orange gown, Michelle Dockery’s white and gold number and Zooey Deschanel’s prom-style dress. And a ton of people hated it but I loved Jennifer Lawrence’s dress too.

You omitted one. I believe you should add Rachel Weisz’s handbag!

There were very few gowns I didn’t like this year and even the ones I thought were bad weren’t exactly horrible. ADORED Lucy Liu’s gown. It was pretty and stood out amongst the more chic, pillar-esque silhouettes but speaking of the latter, Michelle Dockery’s beautiful gown was a sight to behold.

I don’t actually like Lucy Liu’s dress- it reminds me of that scene in Sound of Music where Maria cuts up the curtains to make clothes for all the kids… Urgh!

Lucy’s dress reminded me of one of numerous china ornaments that my mother owned. I think the dressed swamped her tiny frame too.

I think Megan Fox may have borrowed my wedding dress…

Girl Crush is Emily Blunt… all class, always.

Gosh I hope I look half as good as Helen Mirren when I’m her age…
