ARIA Awards 2012: Taylor Swift
Still want to see more from last night’s ARIA Awards? Check out this video by Mamamia intern and entertainment blogger, Alicia Vrajlal, who was on the red carpet last night:
There was a mix of rock’n'roll looks (Ruby Rose, we’re looking at you) and old-school glamour on the red carpet, with Taylor Swift taking out our award for best dressed, looking a little like a Grecian goddess in a floor-length ivory gown.
Kimbra reclaimed her title as Best Female Artist for the second year running while Gotye took home Best Male Artist, Best Pop Release, Best Australian Live Act and Album of the Year, for his album ‘Making Mirrors’. Other multi-award winners include The Temper Trap, who won Best Group and Best Rock Album for their self-titled album ‘The Temper Trap’. Missy Higgins was awarded Best Adult Contemporary Album, The McClymonts – Best Country Album, One Direction – Best International Artist, The Jezabels – Best International Release, and Matt Corby’s ‘Brother’ was voted ARIA Song of the Year.
Missy Higgins, Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, 360, The Temper Trap, The Jezabels, Hilltop Hoods, and international guest, Taylor Swift, performed through-out the night.

It was so great to see that at least some of our Australian artists can be eloquent and gracious winners (Gotye, I’m looking at you – so great!)

Jessica Mauboy ftw!! Hot!
The pose is: one hand on hip and angle your body so it looks like you’re about to fall over! Heads too big? Suffering from vertigo? Hungry and about to faint?

Something awesome about Temper Trap: My friend’s (young) brother is a massive fan and had tickets to the concert, but had to miss the concert to undergo emergency heart surgery. His friends/family posted on Temper Trap’s FB and twitter, and the guys ROCKED UP TO HIS HOSPITAL BED and did a private show for him! How amazing is that!

Is it just me, or is it a sad state of Aus music when half the people attending are from reality tv shows…

The cast of Big Brother were there because they wrote and performed some songs while in the house.
