It’s laugh out loud time. A few weeks ago, College Humour made this brilliant video putting the case for why straight men should support gay marriage. In it, they claim that gay men don’t ACTUALLY care if you refuse to support gay marriage. Because if you don’t let them marry – they’ll just steal your girlfriends instead.
Now the straight guys have responded.
But first, the original. Watch this sketch from College Humour and then send it to every male you know that doesn’t support gay marriage. It’s very likely to make them change their minds:
Now watch this heaven clip from Straight Men over at Scotch Tape Productions who took note and have their rebuttal:

Wow, check out the mysandrists at work!
Go for it girls, keep telling yourselves that men are crap and you’ll believe it one day.
You’re all actually a little bit disgusting, and with attitudes like those displayed here, it’s no wonder guys have difficulty taking you seriously.

Second video isn’t funny or clever at all. Lost me way before the charming ‘drunken sluts’ line. Niiice.
The first one is fabulous, they both have stereotype based humour but the first one is actually done in a funny, parody kind of way that is coming from a good place.

It’s all very sexist and stereotypical. I really don’t find it funny at all

Second one was crap but I loved the first one. “Do you even know the difference between hummus and baba ganoush? You’re a JOKE!” made me laugh so hard.

Of course the first video was funny – madeByGay.
Of course the second was crass, stupid, and lame – madeByWankers
Even as a lesbian, I’d marry a gay guy lol…. Don’t know how you straight sisters do it lol

Soooo….. straight men are against gay marriage now?
loading...
Where did that come from?
The boys actually mentioned the exact opposite.

Well, sorry if I’m a bit dense, but the straight guys WANT the gay ones to marry their girlfriends … so by implication they don’t want them to marry each other. That’s where that “came from”, as you put it so nicely with no undertones at all.

You’re reading something into it that isn’t there.
Concentrate on what was said, not on interpreting what you think someone is trying to say.

Why I would marry a gay guy
Funny, a good laugh. But I have to say I would much rather marry any of those sweet gay guys in the first video.
Here’s why:
For almost all the reasons pointed out in video one.
Why I steer clear of guys in video two:
“Oh, and yes, we were checking out that other girl.”
“Did you see those tits?”
Um, the gay guys in the first video did make the point that’s a win for them because they WOULD NOT do that. Just saying “tits” is enough to put me off, let alone the obvious.
“Come on, even you guys can appreciate a rack that nice.”
Um, I would say no they wouldn’t because they are GAY, remember.
“We are allowed to get married and we still don’t want to.”
Why are they taking this right for granted? I’m not into guys that take such things for granted like that.
“Look at us, we’re awesome.”
“Girls would marry the crap out of us.”
Well, I’m not the kind of girl that would marry the kind of guy like these guys. Talk about being conceited, too.
“The strong kind of ripped.”
“The kind of ripped that wins bar fights.”
Oh yay, there’s nothing like a bit of violence during a date that just goes so well with so many women…not.
“And if anyone gives a sh*t about it…”
“We’ll kick their ass.”
See above.
“All girls are closet lesbians.”
Yes, in these guys’ fantasies they are. In real life, don’t think so. Why are they stating this like it is some kind of fact or truth?
“And jammed pack full of drunken sluts.”
Hmm, what would that make me if I were to date a guy who seemed to be so enthusiastic about “drunken sluts”? No thanks.
Anyway, last note: I’m not taking this too seriously, I do know it’s all in good humour… But to the straight guys out there who are on the same line as these guys in video two.. I’m happy to know that you would not want to marry me, can’t imagine being with a guy like you, hehe

I love this! Love both videos soooooo much!

Laughed at the first video. Disturbed the the response. Bit rude and not tasteful at all.
loading...
I LOVED the first video, which is why the second one was so disappointing. Absolutely sexist and insulting to women.
loading...
While the first one was funny, it was also sexist and insulting to straight men. Funny how you only see one side of the argument.
loading...
This is funny, very stereotypical but hey that’s why so many misconceptions are made and so many are against marriage equality.
There’s also a girl version – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Be8LnuG3U
I loved them and shared them with my gay son & lesbian friends

First vid was hilarious! Second vid, not so much. (Seems to demonstrate another pro of the gay men: comedy stylings

I thought both videos were hilarious. I can’t believe more of the people that commented didn’t. Don’t take it all so seriously! I think the description of women wanting to get married that badly is apt for a lot of women out there, maybe they’re the ones that don’t find it funny?
loading...
Um.. not funny. That crossed over the line of funny, like when someone tells you a really inappropriate joke. The first version was light-hearted, the second version – ‘drunken sluts’?! You totally lost me.
loading...
‘Laugh out loud time’ – which part?
loading...
I don’t understand some of the reactions here..? I thought it was funny, sending up stereotypes of both men and women – the commitment phobia of men and the urge to marry of women.
Laugh at yourselves, people! It will make your day nicer.

Sexism and sterotypes (both gay and straight) awesome…
At least the original had some good-will behind it, but it’s a pity that to promote one cause you have to degrade another (in this case women’s rights).
loading...
I think the second clip was made by someone lacking a sense of humour. it seemed to miss the point completely
It also seems quite disrespectful, to well everyone, including straight men!
loading...
I actually couldn’t even finish watching that. Lame and kind of sexist.
loading...
Guys talking about not wanting to do “girly” things with their girlfriends? Not entirely original or funny in my opinion. A bit like the equivalent “men always leave the toilet seat up” jokes. It’s hard to keep laughing at those ones.
The first video slays this one.
loading...
This sucks! The first one was heaps funnier
loading...
Hmm, if these were ads for which male group to marry, I wouldn’t be choosing the straight men. Don’t worry guys, I reckon marrying you would be terrible too.
loading...
The first one’s funny!
The second one… bit misogynistic for my taste.
loading...
Yes ! Gay men, please marry our girlfriends.
Some of them are threatening to tell our wives about our “arrangements”.
Is MM some type of pseudo marriage bureau ? There is at least five articles each week about marriage. Gay, straight, celebrity, suburban unknown.
Please. Enough is enough ! Some just might be happy living in sin !
loading...
Really? I don’t find this funny at all. Especially given the hilarity of the first video.
loading...
I think all that’s missing here is the women’s response.
loading...
Wow – totally wouldn’t have thought this clip would be something Mia would find funny
‘all those drunken sluts’?!
