Best and worst of the week

.

Welcome to the end of the week and another round of Best and Worst.

Our Friday Best and Worst post is your chance to come together and talk about the highs and the lows of your week, as well as anything else that’s on your mind.

You might have noticed that last week, we gave you  a chance to host Best & Worst for us. And this week we’re going to do it again. It’s our way of embracing the wonderful community that this tradition has created.

Remember that if you’d like to have a chance to host,  simply email info@mamamia.com.au with your full name, headshot and a short bio (include any links to your blog/Twitter etc).

We’ll email you back when a slot becomes open so that you can submit your best and worst. From there we’ll take it, load it and publish it.

Now – introducing Amanda.

Amanda writes:

Best: Mardi Gras! It’ll be my first time attending (being new to Sydney and all), and I’m really excited! I think I’ve decided what I’m going to wear as well…I just need to make sure I can still fit into my corset (see: my worst of the week…), and I’ll need to pick up some black lace and maybe some devil accessories. Off to the costume shop for me!

Worst: I’m feeling depressed about my weight. I’ve put on a lot of weight in the past year (probably about ten kilos), and it’s more than I’m comfortable with. I’m currently hovering more around a large 14 (when average 12 is my healthy size), and I just feel sluggish, heavy, and I can’t seem to move as freely as I used to. I do a reasonable amount of mid-intensity exercise (about five hours a week), and it’s not like I eat massive amounts of junk food or fast food, but I just can’t shift the kilos. Sad. =(

OMM: Study…I just received my uni readings for the semester (I do remote study) and I’m not feeling particularly motivated! It’s my last semester as well, and I’ll have a Masters at the end of it, but at the moment I can think of a million things I’d rather do than study. Any tips?
