How to send the climate change denier in your life scientific spam.

You know that saying ‘two wrongs don’t make a right’?

Rubbish. Utter rubbish.

Take this example: Internet spam is crap. Climate change deniers are crap.

But, when combined, these two crap things produce something that is definitely not crap.

They produce someone that is, in fact, rather awesome.

That (^^) is a screenshot from a new app called Science Stands. The app’s premise is simple: let’s try to harness the annoying power of Internet spam against people who deserve to be annoyed.

How does it work?

1. Select your climate change denier.

Here are a few of the ones on offer:

2. Let the app generate your spam message.

This the a message that will be tweeted to your chosen climate change denier.

Each tweet contains a link to a peer-reviewed study on the effects of climate change, just to remind your chosen climate change denier that 97 per cent of published research supports the idea that humans are responsible for global warming.

3. Click ‘flood’.

And – bam! (Or should that be ‘spam’?) – your tweets have been sent off to your chosen head-in-sand-er.

Now, if we can just get the Prince of Nigeria to start sending these instead of his pesky emails, we’ll have universal support for sustainable environmental policy in no time at all.
