Going viral: The couple who were married 62 years, and died within 4 hours of each other.

Sixty two years. That’s how long Don and Maxine Simpson spent married and deeply committed to each other. They supported each other through health scares, cancer treatments, and the parenting of two beautiful adopted boys.

But even as their health declined in the past few months, they refused to be forced apart. And this week, in a poetic twist of fate, they passed within hours of each other. Holding hands, smiling, and safe in eachother’s arms.

“All Don wanted was to be with his beautiful wife. He adored my grandmother, loved her to the end of the Earth,” their granddaughter Melissa Slone told KERO.
