smile1 380x253 Open Post: Whats happening in your world?

Today we’re doing site admin. Woo!

Welcome to Open Post, the weekly Mamamia post where the editorial team don’t choose the topic – you do.

You can talk about whatever you like. You can share a story, ask for advice, put some questions to our team or simply sticky beak on what everyone else is up to by reading the comments.

Today we’re doing website administration. You may have noticed that the comments section of Mamamia looks a little different this morning. That’s because we’re implementing a new system, which will be faster and simpler to use.

In particular, the new system will allow you to log in via social media (with your Twitter or Facebook account) and leave a comment under your own name. This means you will not longer have to go through the fuss of creating a Mamamia-specific user profile and hopefully, we’ll have less ‘anonymous’ comments.

If you already had a Mamamia profile – never fear – it still exists! You may however have lost your profile photo in the move to the new system. If you have, then we apologise for that small annoyance! You’ll just need to log in and re-add the picture.

That’s all from us for now. If you have any problems with the new system, please just add your concerns to the comments section below and we will keep an eye out. We’ll try and help you out.

UPDATE:

Hi everyone, we’ve had a lot of questions about how to update profiles. We’ve asked our super smart tech people, and the answer is that we’ll add the ‘settings’ link back in the header in next couple of days, where you will be able to update your pictures and other settings.

Alternatively, you can just use the social login buttons in the comment box, or set their profile picture using gravatar.com service.

Thanks for bearing with us while we make this change!

Over to you. What’s happening in your world?

Comment Guidelines: Imagine you’re at a dinner party. Different opinions are welcome but keep it respectful or the host will show you the door. We have zero tolerance for any abuse of our writers, our editorial team or other commenters. You can read a more detailed outline of our commenting guidelines HERE.

And if you’re offensive, you’ll be blacklisted and all your comments will go directly to spam. Remember what Fonzie was like? Cool. That’s how we’re going to be – cool. Have fun and thanks for adding to the conversation.

Important note for those wishing to comment anonymously: If you wish to remain anonymous, please simply use 'Anonymous' or 'Guest' as your user name and type in guest@mamamia.com.au as the email.
