Confession: Things people can't believe I've never done.

Look, I’m just going to come out and say it.

I have never watched The Notebook.

Or Star Wars.

Or Gone With The Wind.

Or ET.

I’m unsure how these incredibly significant pop cultural milestones passed me by because I am usually a total slut for pop culture, especially iconic bits of it. Movies however, are not a great strength.

The Notebook

But whenever I mention any of these things, it tends to freak people out. First they are shocked. Then disbelieving. Then they go into a complete frenzy trying to convince me to WATCH THE NOTEBOOK IMMEDIATELY GO HOME RIGHT NOW AND RENT IT ON ITUNES WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE YOU SHOULD ALREADY BE ON YOUR WAY HOME TO DOWNLOAD IT.

Etc.

There are other things I have also never done that I’m a little sheepish to admit.

I spent 3 weeks in Paris and never went up the Eiffel Tower.

I lived in Florence for A YEAR and never went into the Uffizi. Even though for much of that time, I LIVED NEXT DOOR TO IT.

I’ve never been to the races (I’m doing that for the first time next weekend, stay tuned for how that turns out).

Gone with the Wind

Am I the only one who has these black holes in my life experience? I know some people who have never tried a drop of alcohol or a puff of a cigarette. Others who have never tried drugs.

I know one woman who has never seen an episode of Sex & The City (gasp) and the other night on Twitter, I learned that my cousin Anthony Sharwood has never watched an episode of Q&A (gasp) despite working at news/opinion site The Punch.

So go on, make me feel less like a freak.

What have YOU never done/seen/experienced?
