NEWS: Brad and Angelina's big announcement.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have announced they were married in France at the weekend.

They have always said that they’d get married when gay marriage becomes legal in all US states, but it seems Brangelina weren’t able to hold out.

Jolie, 39, and Pitt, 50, have been together since 2005 and got engaged in 2012. They have six children – Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

The Huffington Post reports the couple were reportedly married “in a private ceremony attended by family and friends”, and reports from Vanity Fair indicate the wedding took place at Château Miraval, the castle and vineyard owned by the family in the South of France.

According to the report, Jolie and Pitt “obtained a marriage license from a local California judge, who also conducted the ceremony in France”.

The Jolie-Pitt children were also reportedly involved in the ceremony: Us Weekly reports that Jolie was walked down the aisle by her eldest sons, Maddox and Pax, while daughters Zahara and Vivienne threw rose petals. Shiloh and Knox were reportedly ring bearers.

Jolie was previously married to Billy Bob Thornton and Johnny Lee Miller, while Pitt was previously married to Jennifer Aniston for five years.
