The internet is going nuts over this squirrel and his tiny umbrella.

If you like hoarding your acorns and getting caught in the rain, this squirrel is most likely your spirit animal.

Melbournians know all too well the dangers of heading out without a brolly in your bag. South West Londoners are much the same, always ready to seek shelter from a downpour.

London photographer Max Ellis was a little concerned that the squirrels in his garden were under equipped for the dreary May weather, so he gave one a tiny umbrella. Bless him.

“Squirrels aren’t usually keen on rain,” he told the Daily Mail UK.

“As the rain got heavier, he was able to shelter for a bit but eventually gave up and headed off home.

“After that we didn’t see another squirrel all day – sensible creatures.”

Quite rightly, the Internet is going nuts for the pictures, with Ellis gaining thousands of social media followers over night. One Singing in the Rain fan even created this spectacular tribute image.

Thanks, Reddit.

You can check out more of Ellis’ work on his website and Instagram. You won’t regret it either, he just loves taking snaps of his furry friends and gives them all kinds of tiny props for the amusement of his son Gulliver.

Please, enjoy this gallery of the squirrels from his garden doing human things in miniature.

And while I still have you here, let’s take a moment to remember this other furry critter who also loves his tiny umbrella.
