Hero, Shocker and Whinger of the week.

Welcome to Mamamia Rogue’s Hero, Shocker and Whinger of the week.

For those of you who don’t know the drill (or somehow forgot it since last week) this is where we celebrate, berate and chuckle at the winners and losers from the week that was. There’ll be a gold-star worthy hero, a shocker of jaw-dropping stupidity and a whinger who  needs urgent medical treatment from the whaaaa-mbulance.

Hero of the Week.

Our hero of the week is 13-year-old Connor McLeod who can claim responsibility for changing our banknotes forever.

Connor is blind and has been campaigning for the Reserve Bank to print tactile banknotes for over a year.

Connor McLeod.

They agreed and all banknotes will now include new features to help vision impaired people tell the difference between Australian notes.

You go, little Connor.

Want the full story? Australia’s banknotes will change forever because of one brave little boy.

Shocker of the Week.

Meet Michele Fiore. American. Republican politician. Shocker.

This week Michele sparked outrage by saying that “young, hot little girls” should be discouraging rapists by carrying firearms.

Nevada Assemblywoman, Michele Fiore.

“If these young, hot little girls on campus have a firearm, I wonder how many men will want to assault them,” she told the New York Times.

“The sexual assaults that are occurring would go down once these sexual predators get a bullet in their head.”

Yeah. She actually said that.

Whinger of the Week.

Which brings us to our whinger of the century week, Mr Andrew Bolt.

The News Corp columnist, of “I just breached the Racial Discrimination Act” fame, had his finger firmly pointed at our national broadcaster this week, claiming the ABC is so ruthlessly biased against Tony Abbott as to be unlawful.

Let’s take a minute to reflect on some of the impartial reportage the Murdoch papers have delivered us over the years… And try not to choke on all the irony.

Good one, dickhead.
