It's certainly looking these days like Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together. And while neither of them have confirmed the relationship publicly, Rihanna has some revealing things to say about Brown in her new cover story for Vogue.
"To the world, I feel like there’s no closure," she says of her controversial romance, which ostensibly ended after Brown brutally assaulted her in 2009. "There’s some obsession that’s continued even throughout when we weren’t friends or couldn’t be friends at all. Hated each other. The world hasn’t let go. They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything, really, besides the song."
The song she's referring to is their sexy 2012 remake of "Birthday Cake" — the first overt sign that she and Brown were friends again, restraining order and all. Rihanna says that the collaboration was her idea, and she admits that she wanted it to be "a little shocking." But she still doesn't entirely understand why the world is so obsessed with their status.
"Now it’s a bit of a fascination, I guess," she tells Vogue. "I don’t know if people will stop soon, but I feel like as soon as they have closure to it, they will."
If she thinks that getting back together with her abusive ex will get people to stop talking, then she's got a funny idea of "closure." But Rihanna says that the public will never know her and Chris' whole story.
