Those of you who have had a one night stand, what is it like? I am not the slightest big interested in ever having a one night stand BTW (nor am I judging those who have had a one night stand). I’m just curious to know what it is like? Do you feel awkward or shy or anything being naked and vulnerable in front of a complete stranger? I couldn’t do it and don’t understand the appeal which is why I’m asking about it.
As a female, I need to feel emotionally close to someone before I can have sex with them, which is one of the reasons why I couldn’t have a one night stand.

I am in that club, and so are a lot of my friends. I’m not saying we were virgins till marriage, but one-man women. It is definitely unique these days. What does self-respect have to do with who you sleep with? I was a virgin until was 22. I hated myself so much I wouldn’t let anyone close to me. I’ve only slept with two men, both of whom were absolute pieces of shit. I’ve never had self-respect and I’m still working on it. Meanwhile, most of my friends have “spread themselves around”, and they are far more confident and secure in themselves than I’ll ever be.
The list is tame, and the comments aren’t all that explicit. Many teens are sexually active, and those that aren’t are still very much aware of their sexuality, so why shouldn’t they read and comment on posts about sex?

Which is probably a pretty large amount from a statistical POV.
Which suggests that despite the fact that so many commented in support of this article – there is a huge number who didn’t comment and feel differently.
I didn’t say anything about confidence – i said self respect.
The point I was trying to establish is.. your sexuality is a thing to value – why share it around doing things that coincidently cause you to need the next best and bigger thrill next time? A list of things to conquer.
You’re actually worth more than you think, and when you do things like this – you’re only kidding yourself.
The list is certainly not tame – and shouldn’t be on an open fb post.
So.. because so many teenagers are sexually active we should encourage them to do whatever they like with whoever they like?
I like to think their parents would value them more than that and encourage them to be more discerning. As this is a community of women, I would hope that it would be more protective of those we are raising (as a community) -making this sort of post available goes the other way.
