Fluff: Look who's had a baby

33-year-old actress Claire Danes has given birth to her first child – a baby boy. She and her husband, 37-year-old Hugh Dancy, welcomed Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy on Monday December 17. PEOPLE has reported that both mother and baby are doing very well.

1. Reese Witherspoon, the 35-year-old star of Legally Blonde and Walk the Line, has written an open letter to 44-year-old Naomi Watts, praising the Australian actress for her performance in The Impossible.

Here is the letter, in full, from Entertainment Weekly:

Hi Naomi,

I know we don’t know each other well. I hope it’s ok that I am reaching out to you, because I simply could not contain my enthusiasm about your performance in The Impossible.

Wow. Just wow. The story of survival and the incredible images of the tsunami and the performances of the entire cast were astounding. By far, one of the best films I have ever seen in my life.

I could not speak for 24 hours after seeing the film. It was more than a movie. It was a meditation on life and family and humanity. It was fortifying.

But the life-breath of the film is you.

Your brutal physical performance, the ferocity of your mothering spirit and the soul touching moments where you hold on to life with every part of your being were incredible.

Not since I saw Meryl Streep’s performance in Sophie’s Choice have I been so moved by an actress’ performance. It also reminded me of Sally Field’s Norma Rae as well. Such strength and absolute vulnerability in the same performance. A mother who is determined to teach her child what it means to be a good person even when facing her own mortality.

If I have anything to do with it (and I will literally tap dance on Sunset Boulevard for you!), you will be holding every beautiful statue that exists by the end of February.

But more importantly, you have created a performance that will stand the test of time.

Congratulations. And thank you for sharing your heart and soul so openly.

3. Bradley Cooper reveals his five nipples. The actor appeared on The Ellen Degeneres show on Tuesday, revealing three extra nipples on his chest, leg and arm.

“Remember when you asked me last time if I could take my shirt off?” he said to Ellen. “I don’t know if I should reveal this much about myself, because… I have a third nipple. And I actually have a fourth nipple… and a fifth one too. Can you see that?”

Her dressing room should be airconditioned at “about 75 degrees” and there should be a lamp in her bathroom so that “harsh lighting may be turned off”. The dressing room should also be fully equipped with two hot air humidifiers, two air purifiers, eight “tall, leafy plants” and two vases of white roses.

All furniture must be in plain colours with “no busy patterns”. It’s unclear what negative impact busy patterns would have on her performance but “the perimeter of each room must be draped”.
