This father of four's Instagram perfectly illustrates the 'guts and glory' of parenting.

Imagine being the father to four girls, all under the age of 10.

More specifically, one aged nine, one aged six, and then 10-month-old twins.

It sounds like a parenting mess. But that’s exactly what Simon Hooper (and his lovely wife Clementine) endure/enjoy every single day.

Rather than posting his highlight reel – the moment the twins fall asleep, the sneaky date nights with his wife, or #throwback from his Europe holiday – Hooper keeps it real.

He shows all the guts and glory of parenting four girls on his hilarious Instagram account, @father_of_daughters.

Day 2 since the clocks changed and the girls are still not adjusted (anyone else struggling with this?!) So at 6.30am, while Ottie & Delilah studied ‘farm yard biology for beginnners’ with mixed success (I said point to the cow, they laughed, clapped & crawled off to chew stuff in the bin), Marnie provided me with a fluid stream of incomprehensible child brain rambling for 5 mins straight at max volume (without noticeably breathing). Morning voices seem not to exist in our house. All this while @mother_of_daughters hid in the shower. From helping his 10-year-old with sex education (hoping she doesn’t ask him about masturbation) to the enormous cost of playing the tooth fairy, his fatherly fashion mistakes, and becoming a “walking encyclopaedia” of baby products, he does it all — happily. Most of the time.

Speaking to the Huffington Post, the operations director said the role of Dad comes with more – he’s a taxi driver, tutor, and even a human climbing frame.

“In general my whole account is to show a realistic view of what parenting is like from a parent’s perspective,” he said.

“There is way too much sugarcoating when it comes to parents, so I wanted to share what it’s really like and provide a bit of humour at the same time.”

He loves what he does and equally loves sharing it with the world.
