Princess Charlotte will play a special role in her Aunty Pippa's wedding.

Pippa Middleton could run the risk of upstaged by a toddler when she marries her hedge fund manager fiancé James Matthews next year.

According to Us Weekly, the couple will be wed on May 20 and plan to feature Pippa’s niece and nephew — that is, Princess Charlotte and Prince George of Cambridge — in the ceremony.

Charlotte, now 19 months, is set to be one of the flower girls, while her three-year-old brother will be the page boy, a source tells the website.

Despite what many of us might have expected, George and Charlotte's mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, won't be a bridesmaid at Pippa's wedding.

And it's not because the bride-to-be is afraid her famous sister might steal the limelight on her big day.

It's because Kate's married, and tradition states bridesmaids can only be unmarried ladies "of a marriageable age". However, the Duchess is likely to deliver a reading during the ceremony, Us reports.

The source went into greater detail about the wedding, for which save the dates have reportedly been sent out.

Us Weekly has reported Pippa, 33 and James, 41, will wed at St Mark’s Englefield in Berkshire before the reception is held at her parents' home in Bucklebury.

We can't wait to see the bride's dress... and Princess Charlotte's for that matter.
