Why couldn't Carrie Bickmore stop laughing through the news on The Project?

There was something very wrong on last night’s episode of The Project. The problem? None of us knew exactly what it was….

Returning to screens after an ad break on Tuesday night’s episode of the popular prime time news show, co-host Carrie Bickmore and guest panelist Fifi Box were seen in fits of laughter, turning away from the camera.

"Sorry," Bickmore said to the camera laughing, explaining, "in the break we were... we were just laughing at Pete's hair."

Helliar, who seemed slightly confused about what was so funny was jokingly consoled by Waleed Aly before Bickmore continued, saying, "I think there's nothing wrong with your hair, it's just..." she trailed off laughing.

Getting serious for an update on the case of Oscar Pistorious, Bickmore then later fell back into fits of laughter while reporting on Labor senator Sam Dastyari's record breaking halal snack pack, which was commissioned by the politician for fundraising purposes.

"You laughed during the right story," Helliar said to his 2015 Gold Logie winning co-star, adding, "well done."

So what was it exactly that was so funny about the 40-year-old comedian's hair? We're still not entirely sure.
