Now here’s a thought: maybe someone should go and buy Michelle a giant pack of condoms if she’s not already pregnant again….could it be time for Michelle to hang up her uterus and retire from the giving birth thing? She’s certainly earned her place in the motherhood hall of fame….

That doesn't sound mixed up. But that's not the only reason God created males and females... We complement each other in lots of areas of life, not just when making babies...
I have heard of the tradition, but no one I know actually practises it. And i used to live overseas, and didn't know anyone against contraception then either. I guess my point is that to attribute such an extreme view to them being 'Christians, so contraception isn't an option' hit a nerve, because i don't think that's a Christian view. It might be a Catholic view, or the view of some Christians, but it isn't a Christian view.
