Motherhood is the last topic you’d expect to inspire a ‘gangsta rap’ tune. Pimped out cars aren’t exactly child seat-friendly, and the only booties you’ll see new mums shakin’ are of the knitted variety.

However, a new viral advertisement has shown that, perhaps, motherhood and rap aren’t such an inconceivable combination. The folk at Fiat UK have documented the sticky, sleep-deprived reality of life in “The Motherhood” in this hilarious spoof.

Who knew being a mum was so badass?

Yo mamma! you know I was thinking to do the same thing myself, obviously not for an ad, but to get my feelings accross as i think many other mothers feel the same. gotta get me out there now, spurred on by this.

Is it just me? I find this really, really annoying. It’s an ad and I don’t find it either funny or something that would entice me to buy the car. I guess from a writing point of view there are no surprises, it’s just stating the obvious to me about motherhood.

I saw this last week and LOVED it (although disclaimer I’m not a Mum). I was very surprised it was an ad, but looking back there is quite a bit of very clever subtle product placement there. It is great.

Must have been the week for it, there is also an excellent home made video “I’m a daddy and I know it” to the tune of “I’m sexy and I know it” doing the rounds too.
