Having grown up with older sisters, I think I was probably in my early teens when I started using moisturiser. It was lucky that I had their influence, because my mother has never used any skin-care products and it shows!

I grew up in the UK and have reasonably good skin for my age. Winter winds had me using a daily moisturiser from my mid teens. Ever since I’ve seen moisturisers with added SPF protection I’ve used them. Now I think I should have paid more attention to the backs of my hands!

I started using moisturiser in my early twenties. It was when i began to see the signs of sun damage. I would have used Nivea as my mother used that product.

I used to use one years ago and then I saw a skin specialist who said to stop using it. So I havereconnected with moisturiser for my skin with this product and am loving it as it doesn’t make my face ‘sweaty’ which I have found with previous products.

Answering two questions in one again.
I don’t use a moisturiser with an SPF factor. I have really pale skin that burns very quickly so I use a matt sunscreen with a very high SPF on my face almost every day of the year. Then I put foundation over the top. I get better protection by using a seperate product.
I was 18 when I started using a daily moisturiser and I have missed very few days since.

I can’t remember when I started to use moisturizer, I was probably in my late teens – but I had good skin growing up and still do – I can’t walk out the door without moisturizer on my face and it must have an SPF.

It wasn’t until I was in my 20′s until I started using moistures regularly due to the fact I had very oily skin in my teens.

I started using a moisturiser in my late teens – I had oily, problem skin back then and had previously used some very strong astringent products on my face which if anything made my skin drier and more prone to breakouts. I hate my skin feeling taut so always use a moisturiser now. My skin is pretty good these days and people often remark that they’re surprised I’m 44 years old, thinking I am younger. I put this down to looking after my skin all my life.

I probably started using moisturiser in my mid teens. These days I don’t intentionally use a moisturiser with an SPF due to a Vitamin D deficiency

Not until my mid twenties because I used to get a lot of acne which needed treatment so I had to be careful what I used on my skin. Up until this trial I have only used sorbolene and sunscreen.

I was about 16 when I started using moisturizer. I don’t remember anyone teaching me skin care; I picked it up myself. I had very good skin so I was lucky as a teen not to have to worry about pimples! My stepdaughter is 11 and has already started her period so I have explained to her about looking after her skin.
Thank you so much for letting me be part of this trial. I have enjoyed using this product and will recommend it.

I definitely use moisturiser with a high SPF factor and have been doing so for many years. I started using moisturiser when I was about 13 and started the cleanse-moisturise-tone routine.

my mum was an Avon rep so I was around 14 when I began a regular skin care routine. Clearasil & Avon products were part of my teenage years! I was already aware of minimising the sun damage I’d been exposed to in my early childhood.
I am noticing, 3 weeks into this trial, that my usual monthly pimple breakout hasn’t occurred – the first time in ahhhh maybe 25 years. I am getting more impressed with the product each time I use it

Maybe 35 when my skin stated drying out slightly before it was oily so I thought I didn’t need moisturizer!!!

I didn’t begin using a moisturiser until I was in my 20′s. I spent my teenage years in the UK so I was not as aware of sun protection as I am now that I am in Australia.
I have been really impressed with this product – I have definitely seen an improvement in the fine lines around my eyes and my skin is looking clearer and brighter. I will continue to use this product even though the trial is over.
My only concern is the SPF – I love that the product has it. I have though found that I don’t need that much of the product to moisturise my skin. Although I am glad there is sun protection in there as any is better than none I would think that I would not get that much sun protection in real terms.

I started using a moisturiser at the age of 13 (the same time that I started getting a few pimples!). Obviously I started to think about how to get rid of pimples and thus paid more attention to what my skin was doing. I had the typical teenager skin with an oily T-Zone. I was lucky not to suffer from acne, just the usual embarrasing spray of zits which I took to with all kinds of heinous methods (metho being the most cringeworthy!). These days my skin is normal and a little dehydrated, though I must say the results of this product have been pleasing and my skin feel hydrated and protected as well as appearing more even in texture…it’s a winner!

I’m struggling to remember exactly when I started using a daily moisturiser, but I think it was around 15. That was when I wanted to buy some nice foundation and other bits and pieces of makeup {eek} and my mum thought it might be a good idea to start a cleanser/toner/moisturiser routine going as well. Unfortunately it wasn’t a sunscreen/moisturiser combo! That came much later… maybe when I was about 20-21 and had moved to Queensland! Now, even though I’m back in Victoria I wouldn’t be without my sunscreen.
Once my babies are all in grade five or six {so between 10-12}, I’ll get them started on a simple facewash and sunscreen/moisturiser routine. I don’t think you can be too young to start protecting and looking after your skin, whether you’re a girl or guy. It’s a great habit to get into. Most kids these days are used to slapping on the sunscreen/hat/etc, so I think it’s important to keep encouraging them to continue on into the tweenies, teenies and beyond.

I started using a daily moisturiser at around 18 and by 19 I was a regular user!! I had dabbled with them though on and off probably from the age of 14-15.

I was quite young, early teenager, when I started using a daily moisturiser and having a skin care routine – my mum has always been very into it, so I think it must have rubbed off. I also started getting more and more breakouts at that stage, so I quickly saw that I really needed it.

I had terrible acne as a teenager – the kind that needed Dermatologist help ie; Roacutane etc etc – so I started using moisturiser from about 14yrs of age to combat the drying out of my skin from the medication. I have never been strictly brand loyal and my skin’s needs differ as the weather changes – a lighter moisturiser in the summer and a creamier one in the winter. As the weather is cooling and there is less humidity I am loving the L’Oréal Revitalift Total Repair 10 – my skin feels really smooth and very hydrated.

I started using a daily moisturiser when I was about 16ish…I remember seeing my mum buying skin care products and thinking one day I was going to be doing that too! Then one day she handed me a jar of hers and I felt all grown up hehe

I started using moisturiser daily in, I think my late teens. Certainly after I left school. It didn’t seem that important at school, but interestingly my teenage daughter has used moisturiser since she was about 14, when i started giving her my ‘free gift with purchase’ makeup bags

I remember being given a cleanser/toner/moisturiser when I was around 12 but I was probably a little bit too young for it at that stage, I just didn’t understand the benefits. I’ve put some form of moisturiser on pretty much daily since I was around 15 or 16 but never really developed a brand loyalty. I have to say that I can feel that changing… just as much as I’ve watched the condition of my skin change over the past few weeks. My skin seems softer and brighter and some of the fine lines around my eyes have started to melt away – I wish I’d taken before and after pics!

I began to use a daily moisturiser in my twenties. I have dry skin with burst of freckles in late teens. I like how the moisturisers now combine a sunscreen.

I think about 16ish? I know I was cleansing and toning before hand to control pimples but wasn’t until I started wearing makeup that I started with Moisturiser.

I started to cleanse and moisturise at about 16. I ahve to admit that I have been fairly religious about it since then. At nearly 47 I was only thinking the other day that I was pleased I had done it. The products have varied in price range over the years depending on my situation. It is only now that I am realising you don;t have to spend a fortune to do the basics. I am loving the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Total Repair 10. My skin is looking really nice and I have been getting lots of positive comments.

My skin is fair and I burn very easily so I make sure I use sunscreen. However, I usually tend to use a separate sunscreen and moisturiser. I do like the idea of combining them because I have limited time in the morning and it is one less step. Usually my foundation has an SPF factor.
I’ve never gone in for tanning of any sort and I do think that has helped my face to look younger than its 40 years.

I am answering 2 questions here as I have been away. First of all SPF, I do try to use a moisturizer that contains one but not always. My 2 faves, Dermalogia Skin Smoothing Cream and Clinique Dramatically Different do not contain SPF.
My morning routine – I always wash my face in the shower, at 41 I STILL get acne on my chin and I am currently using a Proactive cleanser but also use another cleanser on the rest of my face usually Neutrogena. If I am being good I will apply eye cream and sunscreen but if in a rush just moisturizer then my make up on top. I try to use a facial scrub every few days either Avon Anew or St Ives warming scrub, both good for blackheads. I have lots of products in my bathroom cabinet that I should be using but the reality is I just don’t have time in the morning, hard to get ready with 2 kids running around!

I use an SPF 30 sunscreen on my face everyday as I’m very fair. Sometimes I’ll use separate products, but for convenience sake just before this trial I was using a combination moisturiser/sunscreen. Being a mum of three means I don’t have a lot of time to spend on my skincare/beauty routines, so I appreciate time saving products like this one. Really loving the amount of product that the pump pack provides as it’s the perfect size to moisturise and protect my face, neck and chest, which the lovely Zoe Foster recommends we do!
Just wanted to add that for such a rich feeling cream as this one is, it really soaks into my skin beautifully and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy and over moisturised. My face feels really soft and I haven’t {touch wood} noticed any extra spots, as sometimes happens when I use richer textured products. I’ve also used it at night with no noticeable detriment. Yay L’Oreal!

I always use an SPF30 sunscreen on my face everyday. But I never {except for this trial} use a combined moisturiser/SPF. I’ve always used two separate products. A beauty therapist once told me they have opposite goals – moisturisers work at the lower skin levels while sunscreens work more superficially. Not sure why but that little nugget of info stuck with me. Having said that, I’ve been happy so far with this Loreal product I’m trialling.
My face is noticeably less dry and uneven pigment seems to be fading. I did encounter a slight stinging sensation when using it after my face had seen too much sun for its liking while camping over the weekend (WA is still in summer mode!) but that was only for that one application. Love the pump pack – so easy to use one handed.

my morning beauty routine is fast & furious…it all happens in about 5 mins including makeup!
While showering I: cleanse & exfoliate using a facial cloth & whatever cream cleanser I have on hand. I use an organic, chemical free Australian made scrub from Earthy Essences.
It’s then patting on my new Revitalift Total Repair 10 which feels wonderful and very rich. I too have adjusted the amount required. I have always used Invisible Zinc sunscreen regardless of moisturiser, so that’s the next step. lastly it’s 100% mineral makeup from Eluysion – primer, concealer, foundation, blush & setting powders, eyebrow pencil, mascara, lip liner & gloss…I have it down to a fine art now; 3 children & a hectic morning have trained me well!

I always go for a moisturiser with an SPF factor even if it does annoy me a little bit that a non SPF moisturiser is always slightly cheaper.

I do use a moisturiser with SPF on my body…once Vaseline Intensive Care brought out the Aloe Vera pump pack with SPF15 there was no excuses to be lazy, as this is an easy thing to do everyday, protecting my skin when see the sun day-to-day and moisturise at the same time….my face normally use a foundation with SPF 30…hoping this slows the ageing process!!

I am 37 years old and have been using SPF in my day moisturiser since the age of 25. I have found that this has vastly secured a relatively wrinkle free facial zone. When I compare my skin to another 37 year old who doesn’t stay out of the sun and/or wear SPF I find I am the less wrinkled of the pair! That also goes for many of my friends who are younger than me…and sport many more wrinkles. I encourage my daughter and son to wear sunscreeen any time they go out and will be advising my daughter to wear an SPF moisturiser as soon as she is old enough to have a “beauty routine”. There is a very good reason why I have been so careful about using SPF and if I can change just one persons habits (as I did when I was 25) by posting this pic today I will be happy. Below is what happens to faces that are sunscreen free for the vast majority of their existence….skin cancer….

I’m shocking at remembering to buy a moisturiser with a built in SPF. I’m starting to fall in love with this though so it might be a problem of the past. My skin is definitely feeling softer and smoother and either some of the fine lines are getting smaller or I’m imagining it… let’s go with the first option!

No I don’t. The moisturiser I generally use is Sorbolene, then I apply a separate SPF 30 + sunscreen everyday. At night I just use sorbolene alone.

In the last couple of years I always make sure my moistriser contains SPF factor, as I find just being outside for 10 minutes for boring tasks like hanging out the washing the sun is so harsh. I like to protect my face as much as possible with little time spent on prepation prior to being outside.

i don’t don’t look for this feature when buying moisturiser which is very bad!! I know that i should but love the sun too much

I always use a moisturiser with SPF – havent always, but now older and wiser, and well, most day creams on the market these days seem to contain SPF. In addition, my foundation and powder also both contain SPF.

Because I live in Qld I always use a moisturiser with a built in SPF.
I have used a few different products as have found over the years that some with built in SPF can be a bit white looking on the skin. Over the last couple of years though they have improved and the L’Oreal product I am trying is really good – no white mask at all.
A couple of weeks into the trial and I am pleased with how it is going on, my skin is feeling softer and the texture of my skin seems to be smoother.

I always use a moisturiser with an SPF now since I had some small skin cancer spots removed from my face several years ago. My specialist said I should not step outdoors without it and now there are several great moisturisers on the market with it built in that it’s part of my daily ritual now. I’ve also started using it on my decolletage as well which is something I used to ignore, but it’s just as exposed and is ageing.

I’ve been using face moisturiser with SPF factor for a while now. Even when I know I’m not going to be outside it’s good to know my skin is protected.

jodes I’ve been told that using the same moisturiser at night that you use in the day is fine if it suits your skin – it simply means the SPF isn’t activated/being used because there is no UV rays.
I do use a moisturiser too in the daytime with an SPF in it. It always feels right to me to have used one with protection in it.
I personally don’t use the same one at night but there is a brand I’ve tried this with and it worked well for my skin and simplified my skincare routine at the time too.

I have children that LOVE playgrounds, the beach and bike riding…and my skin is quite prone to freckling so an SPF has been a non-negotiable component of my daytime moisturiser for a long time. The difficulty for me has been finding one that doesn’t clog my pores or have that shiny look that some sunscreen based formulations have. I love how the L’Oreal Total Repair 10 absorbs fully into my skin to provide a soft, hydrated feel while knowing that it is actively protecting my skin from further sun damage at the same time.

Yes now I am older and wiser (?) I always use a moisturiser with an SPF. I don’t tend to buy a different moisturiser for night time so I do wonder if I’m harming my skin by wearing an SPF at night?? Anyone have any answers to that?

ALWAYS.

I have noticed a pleasurable reduction in my pigmentation (had lots of freckles and sun damage from way way ago). Since using Revitalist these have faded quite a bit to my surprise. It has a lovely texture and not too perfumed which I appreciate. Lovely to put on just after morning shower. Thanks.

I have a very simple morning routine on most days when I work from home – cleanse with an exfoliating cleanser in the shower and then moisturise. Before trialling the L’Oreal moisturiser I was using a tinted moisturiser with SPF from Dermalogica but this was only for the last few months and not sure it is worth the expense! I usually only wear some eyeliner unless I’m going to a meeting and then I do the whole foundation, full make-up thing.
I have always tried to use a moisturiser with SPF built-in and have tried various products including Nivea and Olay as well as the Dermalogica one I mentioned. None of them have felt as good on as this L’Oreal one. Some left my skin looking white (too much like sunscreen) and others didn’t feel like they moisturised enough. I am really happy with how the L’Oreal one is working and will definitely continue using it.
loading...
No I haven’t used a moisuriser with an SFP built in. I guess I work in an office environment and haven’t put sunscreen on till I get outside on weekends normally.

Working week days differ from non working week days with my morning routine. Working days involve showering and washing my face with my Norwex face towel – no soaps or cleansers just water. Deoderant on and I’m now trialling the L’Oreal moisturiser which I’m finding very creamy so I’m only using half a pump. MAC Primer on over the top of the moisturiser then style my hair. I use MAC makeup – foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss. Whole routine probably takes about 25mins. Non working days I don’t wear makeup – I like to give my skin a break.
