The parents of missing boy William Tyrell have broken their silence in a plea to find their missing son.

As police increase efforts to secure his return, his parents have released a handwritten plea for information.

“William’s Spiderman toys remain untouched and there is such a huge hole in our hearts. Walking past his bedroom is painful beyond words and having to do the day to day activities just reinforces that,” they wrote.

“Our sadness is overwhelming. As parents you wish for your children to have a long, happy and loving future. We desperately want that for our little William.”

“Please, if you have seen or heard anything — anything at all, call crime stoppers.”

William went missing on September 12 last year from his grandmother’s home in Kendall on the north coast of NSW, where he was playing with his sister.

According to The Daily Telegraph, police have announced they are ruling out members of William’s family, and are focusing on the involvement of strangers.

“We are confident it was human intervention from a person unknown to the family,” Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin said.

“It’s not by chance that we have sex crimes involved in this case.”

Here is the full letter from the Tyrell family, as reported by News Corp:

We wake up every day hoping this nightmare will be over. We desperately miss William, he is our baby boy; our funny; cheeky, gorgeous boy. Our home is just that little bit too quiet and too empty without him.

William’s Spiderman toys remain untouched and there is such a huge hole in our hearts. Walking past his bedroom is painful beyond words and having to do the day to day activities just reinforces that.

Our sadness is overwhelming. As parents you wish for your children to have a long, happy and loving future. We desperately want that for our little William.

Please, if you have seen or heard anything — anything at all, call crime stoppers.

We desperately want our little boy home where he belongs.
