See in this photo how the surgeon (her husband) is pulling her eyes so they’re slanty? Well, this is because he’s going to implant nylon wires into her face to make her look Asian.

Why? Glad you asked! Brazil’s annual Carnival begins shortly and the theme of Angela’s samba group for their float this year is “Porto da Pedra” the centennial of Japanese immigration to Brazil. So naturally, the nylon wires are to create the Asian eyes.
