What were your BEST & WORST moments this week?

Thank God it’s Friday. Welcome to Mamamia’s most popular weekly post where you get to share, care and vent.

There’s something….I don’t know, therapeutic or cathartic about reflecting on the highest and lowest points of your week (and sometimes your life at the moment) and sharing them anonymously with strangers.

If you’re new to Mamamia or this post, remember that your ‘worsts’ don’t have to be tragic or serious. Sometimes, the worst thing that happens to you in a week is getting a parking fine. They’re good weeks and those having shocking ones often say they appreciate reading about trivial things because it’s a distraction and a reminder that life will – at some stage – return to a semblance of normality for them too.

For the next few weeks, QV skincare are sponsoring this post and giving away free skincare and chocolate to a bunch of Mamamia readers. After my detox of a few months ago, I have cautiously begun dipping my toe back into chocolate and I’m guessing I’ll be fully immersed again by Easter. Bring it on Easter Bunny.

Then I’ll definitely need the skincare.

And remember, I know it’s been a HUGE week of Oscars frockwatch (full recap here) but there has been a lot of non-Oscars fashion going on also – here are this week’s best and worst dressed of the week.

OK, I’m ready to roll with my best and worst for the week.

BEST: Shuffles the baby elephant (as he’s been nicknamed by his keepers) was born alive after being declared dead two days earlier in his mother’s womb when no signs of life could be detected during her 9 DAY LABOUR. Jesus ouch. I do love a good animal story at the best of times and our family goes to Taronga zoo often – the elephants are a particular favourite.

I’ve also followed the story of these elephants since they were brought over from Thailand. This is the second calf to be born and what a beautiful story.

Who knew I could feel so maternal about a baby elephant! My milk almost came back just looking at the pictures of the little guy struggling to stand up – literally back from the dead.

In a world of bad news, there has been something so wonderfully innocent and moving about this story. Pure joy.

WORST: Wearing vomit (not my own) at 1am and 3am. It’s not even the vomit part that bothers me (I got over any squeamishness about three children ago) but just the drama of changing sheets and pyjamas and running baths when I should be asleep and dreaming of Gerard Butler has not been a highpoint. Still, it’s just colds. Nothing too ‘worst’.

To everyone in the MM community going through tough times, my thoughts and support go with you…..
