United Future Foundation

Founded by 2 University students in 2008, UFF aims to break the cycle of poverty in rural areas of Uganda by providing education and skills training to disadvantaged Ugandans. ‘Katuuso Primary and Vocational School’ opened in January 2011 and currently educates 80 pre-primary and Primary 1 students aged 5 – 7 years. The construction model is expansive and more children will be enrolled annually. In addition, skills courses such as agriculture, tailoring, English, masonry and carpentry will be offered to men and women in the community to mobilise them into employment.

Katuuso currently employs over 30 Ugandans as teachers, builders, cooks, security and maintenance staff. The children are offered uniforms and 3 nutritious meals a day, and the entire community benefits from access to a deep set borehole offering clean drinking water. UFF offers child and teacher sponsorship programs to support the maintenance of the school.
