He gave birth. And she provided the sperm.

Bianca and Nick in interview with The Daily Mirror.

This is Bianca and Nick Bowser.

They met through a mutual friend in 2009, married in late 2011, and had two children.

Their story sounds much like any suburban couple’s — except Nick and Bianca are both transgender, and it was Nick that gave birth to the couple’s two sons.

The Kentucky couple recently spoke to the UK’s Daily Mirror, revealing in the candid interview that they were not able to afford gender confirmation surgeries, so were able to have their biological children — Kai, three, and Pax, one — together.

And while the Bowsers say they ‘love raising children’, Nick said he found being pregnant ‘a daily struggle’ and doesn’t plan to bear any more babies.

“I decided to carry our sons because we wanted our children to be ours, but being pregnant made me absolutely miserable,” Nick, 27, told the Daily Mirror.

“We had our two children out of it and that’s the only good that came out of it,” he said.

“I will not be pregnant again. I cannot do it.”

He added that he opted for a caesarian section because it ‘cut out part of the very female process of giving birth’.

The couple with their older son, Kai, appearing on Ricki Lake last April.

He added that while Bianca, 32, connected with their children at the first ultrasound appointment, he hadn’t immediately bonded with the babies.

“For me it took at least two weeks until after they were born for me to form any sort of attachment to them,” he said.

The Bowsers changed genders in their teens: Bianca was born a boy called Jason and has been living as a woman for 11 years ago, while Nick was born a girl called Nicole and transitioned seven years ago, Metro reports.

Nick takes testosterone and has had surgery to remove his breasts, while Bianca has had breast augmentation and laser hair removal.

They moved to their current home in Kentucky from Georgia, Atlanta, and their new neighbours don’t know they were transgender, Nick told the Daily Mirror.

“We don’t walk around telling people that we’re transgender and I had the babies and Bianca didn’t have the babies,” bar manager Nick said.

But he said the shocked reaction of strangers during the later part of his pregnancy drove him to seclusion.

“My pregnancy was not the norm for a lot of people and so they stared…“I only left (the house) for doctor’s appointments,” he said.

“People are afraid of what they don’t understand.”

Right now, the couple is debating how to tell their children — and Bianca predicts that conversation will take place ‘maybe when Kai is around six’.

“It is important they know because it’s a big secret to keep from your children and if they found out another way they could hold huge resentment,” she said.

“Being transexual doesn’t define who we are , just as being black or white or skinny or fat doesn’t define you either.”
