So you never forget another vaccination appointment. EVER.

We’ve all heard the arguments against childhood vaccinations (and politely or not-so-politely ignored them) but did you know that one of the reasons many parents don’t vaccinate their children is because they forget?

It’s easy to forget when you have so many other things on your mind. But it’s so important not to miss any scheduled appointments, especially from the time your child is born until they are four-years-old, because this is when they are at their most vulnerable. So are their siblings, family and friends.

Making sure our children get all their vaccinations, on time, protects them and the community. It’s more important than dressing them warmly when it’s cold, it’s more important than making sure they eat all their veggies and it’s more important than making sure they get 12 hours of sleep each night.

All children need to be vaccinated on time.

Just as an FYI, this post is sponsored by NSW HealthBut all opinions expressed by the author are 100% authentic and written in their own words.

NSW Health has stepped in to help parents remember to vaccinate their kids on time with a brilliantly simple app called ’Save the Date‘.  You can access it through their website or type ‘SAVE THE DATE’ into the App Store.

Once you hit download, it installs in moments.

Go into the app and you’ll land on the home page.

Tap on the top right hand side where it says ‘PULL’ to see the menu.

Press ‘SCHEDULE’ to set up each of your children’s immunisation schedules.

You just enter your child’s name, date of birth, an optional photo and the app generates a personalised schedule and automatic reminders for their next scheduled appointment.

You’ll see the schedule appear, and you can check off each vaccination your child has already received. Then, the app will remind you as they come up.

The app even has lullabies to play to your child to help soothe them to sleep, along with a million cuddles and kisses from you too!

The ‘About’ section is worth a visit because it serves to remind you about the importance of vaccinating your children. The only advice I ever give to new parents is: Be careful whose health advice you take. If someone says anything negative about vaccinations, ask for their medical qualifications.

If they don’t have any medical qualifications, get a second opinion.

The immunisation website also has great information to help answer your immunisation questions www.immunisation.health.nsw.gov.au

We all want happy and healthy children and the Save the Date app makes it simple. It helps you to safeguard your child from serious preventable diseases.

Because you’re busy enough without having to deal with dangerous preventable diseases like whooping cough, measles, chicken pox or polio.

Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

When was the last time you missed a vaccination appointment?

Save the Date to Vaccinate is an initiative from NSW Health to remind parents of the importance of on-time vaccinations for children from birth to 4 years of age.

On-time vaccinations help protect children from serious diseases at the most vulnerable time of life.
