Photoshop Alert: Mariah busted again….and again…..

Amusingly, the coverline on US Elle is "Mariah’s new body". Why yes it
is. Although perhaps a more honest coverline would have been "Not
Mariah’s Body At All!"

Hard to know where to point the finger with these celebrity fake
body shots. Celebrities always have final say on the image used on the
cover. Photographers will not sell a picture to a magazine without the
celebrity’s approval. And if the magazine commissions the shoot? The
celebrity will get to choose the photo and approve the final re-touched
version.

Some celebrities even have their own re-touchers and provide the photo to the magazine already done.

So sad really, because it’s not like Mariah was fat to begin with.
Why does she have to look like an impossible Barbie with that tiny
ribcage and torso that doesn’t look wide enough to contain any internal
organs?

I maintain: women don’t want to see this shit. We want some reality from our magazines and our celebrities. PLEASE.

Here’s some more examples of Mariah courtesy of Photoshop….
She’s far from the only celeb to do this but she’s very consistent and seems to feel the need to define herself by the hotness (read: thinness) of her body and exposing as much of it as possible.
This strikes me as particularly sad given that of all the female popstars in the world over the past few decades, her voice is by far the most extraordinary. Isn’t that enough?
