The parents of William Tyrell have a heartbreaking message: "Just give him back."

The distraught parents of missing New South Wales three-year-old, William Tyrrell, have made a heart-wrenching plea for his safe return.

Police have said missing three-year-old William Tyrell may be the victim of a “paedophile ring”.

Homicide Squad Commander Mick Willing said detectives from the homicide squad, the sex-crime squad and the mid-north coast local area command are investigating several lines of inquiry.

“One of those lines of inquiry relates to people we suspect being involved in a pedophile ring,” Commander Willing told media today.

“We are vigorously pursuing that line of inquiry.

“This investigation is moving at a very fast pace and we are pursuing every lead that we get.

“If anyone has any information we urge them to come forward.”

This statement came after William’s parents made their first public statement since their son went missing from the NSW mid-north coast last September.

Seven months after their beautiful boy went missing the parents of William Tyrell have finally spoken out and their message is so gut wrenchingly raw it is difficult to hear.

To date we have not heard from William’s parents – we only knew that he was at his grandmother’s home when he went missing on the mid-north coast of NSW last September, but today for the first time we hear their agonised voices.

It is a case which rocked the nation, all of us praying for the safe return of the little boy in his Spiderman suit.

This morning for the first time his mother and father have spoken.

“If somebody has him and if he’s alive…I want him to be safe, I want him to be feeling loved and I want someone to be looking after him…because to imagine that something else is going on…we can’t live a life like that,” William’s mother said.

“Just give him back…give him back. “Take him to a church, take him to a police station, take him to a school. “Give him to someone…give him back,” she begged.

“You can’t take children, you just can’t take children…he’s three!” his mother declared, “He’s three years old, he’s only lived for three years, it’s ridiculous.”

She spoke of the milestones that little William had yet to reach, his life still to be lived.

“He hasn’t gone to school, he can sort of count. He’s reached none of the milestones that we all take for granted.”

Legal restrictions had previously prevented William’s parents from speaking publicly. The couple from Sydney have now given an interview to police making an emotional plea to the public to help them find William.

The video does not identify the mother and father, police have stressed that the parents are not, nor have ever been suspects.

They have also shared some family photos of their beloved boy in the hopes someone, somewhere can finally give them the peace they so very much need.

William’s parents reveal this morning that they arrived at the property just hours before his abduction. It was a surprise visit to William’s grandmother’s house.

William’s mother says when he failed to respond to her calls as he played outside just metres away, she knew he’d been kidnapped.

“I had a vision in my head…I can’t explain it. “That somebody reached over and I sort of feel like they’ve gone “clump” on his shoulders, picked him up and moved him on…because to me…that’s the only way for me to explain him not to be there,” she said.

William’s parents say the kidnapper or someone close to the kidnapper who might have knowledge of the crime needs to come forward and contact police.

They’re urging anyone with information about the case to contact Crime Stoppers immediately on 1800 333 000.

William’s father choked back tears as he remembered his son, a toddler infatuated with the “Spiderman” superhero. “(William loved) anything that related to Spiderman and superheroes.”

“He’s a cheeky, vibrant little boy…full of energy. “I mean he’s my little boy,” his father said.

“He loved planes and we’d even taken him to the airport and watch the planes take off and land.”

His father said William is a cautious child who would never accept an approach from strangers.

Police believe the little boy was abducted. In January police raided the home and office of repairman Bill Spedding after he was due to fix a washing machine at William’s grandmother’s home the week he disappeared. After excavating his front yard and draining a septic tank they claimed he  was not a suspect but a “person of interest”. Mr Spedding has denied any involvement.

Head of the homicide squad, Detective Superintendent Michael Willing, said anyone who has information on William’s disappearance should listen to his mother’s plea and do the right thing and come forward.

“They have laid bare their feelings in a heart-wrenching plea for the community’s help and are doing everything in their power to seek the safe return of their little boy.” Detective Superintendent Willing said.

Seven months on hearts of the nation are with this family. Our thoughts, our prayers so very much with this family. Come back to us all William.
