Australian Jacob Riordan has been found safe in Nepal.

A young Australian traveller is missing and his family needs your help.

Jacob’s sister contacted Mamamia on Sunday evening to advise that Jacob has been found. He was trekking with a friend when the earthquakes occurred, and has since made contact with his family to assure them of his safety.

We can only cross our fingers that the stories of the other Australians missing in Nepal have the same happy ending.

Jacob Riordan has been travelling in Pokhara, Nepal, which is the region that was the epicentre of yesterday’s earthquake.

His sister, Essie has been in touch with Mamamia and said that she understood he was making his way to Kathmandu in time to fly home to Australia on 2 May.

Jacob was last seen two days ago and he hasn’t made contact since the earthquake.

Jacob is 192cms tall, has sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. His sister said that he has probably grown a beard while travelling.

Jacob is an environmental worker, who was travelling in Nepal on holiday. He lives in Belgrave, and is a graduate of the University of Melbourne where he studied Philosophy and Psychology. His sister has told Mamamia that Jacob is a “quiet, thoughtful, loving person – and a much beloved son, brother, and uncle.”

Jacob’s sister Essie says, “if anyone has seen Jacob, please get in touch with us any way you can (email, twitter, facebook). If you run into him ask him to contact us, or get in touch with the Red Cross or the consulate who have his details and know we’re looking for him.”

Essie has also made a plea for help on Twitter:
