Kensington Palace has released a new photo of Prince George on the eve of his birthday.

And he really does look like a cheeky little monkey.

On the eve of his second birthday, Kensington Palace has released a new, never-before-seen photo of Prince George.

The third in line to the throne celebrates his second birthday today, July 22nd.

Kensington Palace released a new photo of Prince George taken by Mario Testino on the day of Princess Charlotte’s christening – showing him grinning happily while in the arms of his father, Prince William.

Kensington Palace released the pic saying, “Look who is turning two tomorrow.”

They followed this up by later saying:

“This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George’s second birthday.”

It has been reported that Prince George will have a “low-key birthday party” at  home Anmer Hal.

His grandmother, The Queen will not be able to attend, nor his grandparents, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall who are away, but Carole and Michael Middleton will be there along with Pippa Middleton, as well as least some of George’s seven godparents.

Post continues after gallery:

He is said to be having a somewhat less extravagant event than his first birthday, with The Daily Mail reporting that his mum has organised the event.

We just bet she has been up all night making chocolate crackles and fairy bread. (Make sure you cut the crusts off Kate!)

We wish the delightful little guy a very Happy Birthday.

And because that photo is just so damn cute here it is again:
