Beyonce has revealed a new ‘do’ this week, ditching her long and flowing hair for tight braids.

She might be the only woman in the world who is able to pull this look off.

The singer and actress has tried braids once before, during her Destiny’s Child days in the ’90s.

The singer, who has favoured soft waves in recent times, debuted her newly plaited light locks while on a shopping trip to Bergdorf Goodman in Manhattan today.

The 30-year-old, who was dressed in a patterned playsuit from her own House Of Dereon line, twisted her tresses into a big bun on top of her head and finished off her look with big hoop earrings.

She had daughter Blue Ivy cradled in her arms during the outing and the six-month-old has quite the head of hair too.

Beyonce partnered her new hairstyle with minimal make-up, hoop earrings and a printed play-suit.
