Indy Clinton is unlike any schoolgirl you know.

Between studying for her HSC and hitting the surf in Palm Beach, the leggy 17-year-old Sydneysider poses in bikinis, wetsuits and masses of chunky bohemian jewellery for posts on Instagram — and earns thousands of dollars for it.

It may sound a bit like Indy, a student at elite private school Loreto Kirribilli, is being paid to do something many of us do every day for free — but there’s an undeniably clever business model behind her unique type of fame.

Indy, who now has more than 52,000 Instagram followers, is signed to Chic Blogger Management — and she now charges up to $750 per Instagram post from companies wanting her to promote their goods, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Recently, for example, she reportedly charged Surf, Dive ‘n’ Ski $2000 to post four pictures of herself wearing their wetsuits.

The blonde schoolgirl, who plans to be a Hollywood actress someday, started posting photos to Instagram at 15. She gained followers fast — and then companies began giving her free products if she posted pictures of herself with them.

“Dad suggested I charge for posts, so I started asking for $50 per post,” she told the Daily Telegraph.

“I’m a quintessential Aussie girl. I love the beach and I have surfed since I was three,” Ms Clinton said. “On Instagram I try to create the life all people want to have. They want to follow me and be inspired by my positive attitude to life.”
