Greg Bird and his girlfriend are going to make $$$ out of the 'alleged' assault.

My ears nearly fell off this morning when I heard that A Current Affair, Today Tonight and Sixty Minutes are all falling over each other to bid for the first interview with Greg Bird. And his girlfriend Katie. You know, the one who is now permanently scarred ON HER FACE from HAVING A GLASS SMASHED INTO IT. Allegedly.

The only way the TV networks can justify paying men who ‘allegedly’ beat up their partners is to have the partners also take part. Remember the Wayne Carey interview with his girlfriend? She was also glassed in the face by the man she loved. Quelle coincidence.
Anyway – as if this girl has not had enough pressure put upon her to protect her boyfriend and save his career, now she has to go on TV and say…what…that she fell on a glass? That it was a prank gone wrong? That Greg is actually blameless and a wonderful boyfriend?

I don’t want to judge Katie for her actions since the ‘alleged’ assault. She is obviously in a world of physical, mental and emotional pain. But it certainly highlights the complexity of why women stay with men who ‘allegedly’ abuse them……
