There was a little cheer from women across Australia this morning when Chrissie Swan announced she is returning to TV, hosting Network Ten’s Can of Worms.
Chrissie released a statement: ”The opportunity to host a smart, weekly show with all sorts of unexpected moments is the perfect fit for me. I always said I’d do a TV show if it was the right one. This format and the team behind it are too good to be true.”
A former The Circle presenter and reality TV star, Chrissie hosts the 3pm Pick-up on Mix 106.5 and caused a stir earlier this year on the cover of Women’s Weekly. You can read all about that here.
And just because we can, here is a gallery of the lovely Chrissie Swan.

Chrissie first shot to fame in the 2003 series of Big Brother Australia.
This from SMH:
Radio presenter and former Circle co-host Chrissie Swan has today been announced as the new host of Network Ten’s Can of Worms.
The issues-based talk show is expected back on the air in August as the networks re-tool post Olympics. Ten has been eager to bring the show back this year, but has struggled to find a suitable host. Paul Henry was a serious contender, while Charlie Pickering was also discussed.
Swan, the 2010 TV Week Logie winner and mother-of-two, left daily daytime show The Circle to spend more time with her family, but has been lured back to fill the seat left vacant after Ian “Dicko” Dickson publicly sacked himself as host last year.
You can read all about Chrissie’s decision to quit The Circle here.

Good on her, Chrissie is one of the few whose fame after Big Brother hasn’t been at the expense of the audience’s brain cells.

I love Chrissie, she seems like such a warm and lovely person. Am looking forward to watching her on Can of Warms.

I have met Chrissie and she is a lovely and charming person. I wont watch “Can of Worms” regardless who hosts. The first season was quite purile and not really my cup of tea.
As for the assertion that women all over Australia were squealing with excitement at the news that Ms Swan was to appear on TV again, that day I was either asleep or heavily drugged. I didn’t notice any of the supposed hoop-la. I have made enquiries and have not found a single female who was present at any gathering that audibly honoured Ms Swan.

I will follow you around this website until someone at Mamamia notices and bans your ass for good. You are not helping the cause you naively think you’re trying to promote. And in fact you’re putting every decent male I’ve ever had the privilege to know to shame. If you had an ounce of sense you’d realise by disparaging females you are perpetuating that gender divide you’re whining about. But yeah, I won’t bother explaining that to you because it appears you’re too far gone.

I think you and I may be of one mind, beans. I have just sent an email regarding the presence of these overgrown children on this site. I hope we succeed in banning this unmitigated idiocy. There is one poster who was becoming positively frightening on Friday.

Hope that doesn’t mean she’s leaving am radio, she’s the only reason I can cope with the school run. Get well soon……

I’ve listened to the radio show. The on air banter between Yumi & Chrissie sounds completely scripted. Every “ooh” and “aah” uttered comes across as fake and contrived rather than a real conversation between two friends. I mean to say, there are times when you can almost hear them turning the page to get to the next snappy one liner.
Definitely for the fans and not everyone’s cup of tea.

Doesn’t Chrissie do the morning show with Jane Hall? I thought the show with Yumi was in the arvos…?
loading...
Not sure. I’ve only ever heard the show with Yumi.

Yumi is nothing on Ms Swan!

LOVE that Chrissie is coming back to keep us company
Love her down to earth approach and fabulously (at times) wicked humour.
Loads more laughs to come. . .

I love Chrissy! She’s just one of those people who could easily be your bestie who you can share everything with, and not take things too seriously! Good to hear her return to TV, love the show! Love her. Definitely looking forward to it!

Yay Chrissie! Hope Meshel still has the gig as well, this combo woulbe fab.

I’m not confident that even Chrissie can un-lemon that show. The pool of “celebrities” was just too small and boring last year.
Perhaps it would be more interesting if they were able to choose from more than just Channel Ten “personalities” and included non-TV and non-(Ten aired)sport people and had less banal and inane questions…
Oh wait on, that show already exists – Q&A on ABC

I love Can of Worms and Chrissie Swan. Hope they are a good fit!

Will be lovely to see Chrissie back on our screens! Channel 10 is full of beautiful strong women at the moment – great stuff!

No cheer from me. While I understand why people love her, I’m a little over hearing about her.
Ever heard of the phrase – too much of a good thing? This applies here.

Can say I agree with you, – I think she’s a total breath of fresh air. Good on her and I hope he success continues.

Bugger – I actually meant to say *CAN’T* say I agree with you. But there you go – each to their own

Yay Crissy rocks!! Love her. The Circle just isn’t the same without her. Look forward to the new show.

I’m happy to read this. I didn’t watch the show every week, but I did watch it sporadically. I like dicko as the host, but in what capacity is Chrissie’s role… is she taking over from Mishel (?) Laurie or from Dicko?
I don’t mind Mishel’s posts here, but I disliked her on the show. Wasn’t a good fit.

I am pretty sure Dicko sacked himself from the job last year….he is still prducing but didn’t want to host so I assume it is in his role. But you know what they say about assume…..

Oh yay! I will watch the show just for Chrissie. So excited to have her back on telly.

I love Chrissie. I used to watch The Circle sometimes when I was pregnant & I love ‘The 3pm PickUp’. I also read the Women’s Weekly article recently & thought she came across brilliantly. It just confirmed to me how down-to earth she was.
I think she’ll be great for ‘Can of Worms’.It didn’t quite work before, it should have but it just missed the mark somehow. Chrissie is more personable than Dicko who was right to sack himself. But Dicko did brilliantly in acquitting himself in ‘Celebrity Apprentice’. I got sucked in enough to watch the whole series & started missing ‘Offspring’ my favourite show. I fell in love by the end with Lauren, Dicko & his bromance.

With the profile pic you used for this article, the headline should be
CHRISSIE SWAN IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
ok thats out of my system. YAY chrissie is back on the telly.

Totally agree LOVE Chrissy she is amazing.

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO

Awesome news, although I did quite like Dicko as the host. What about Meshel Laurie though, as the co-hosty side companion thing? She was great! I hope she’s still on board.

YAY! Love Chrissie and will look forward to seeing her on my telly again. x
