Worked on some promotions with Bindi a few years ago. She was so professional – it was slightly unnerving how ‘perfect’ she was, but she also managed to seem genuine and warm and friendly, as did her mum. I think Terri must be a very special person to have raised such a grounded girl in both extraordinary and sad circumstances, kudos to them both. It’s clear she adored and was adored by her dad, too.
Other pics: love the silhouette of the Obamas, his ears are so adorable I want to kiss them. Funnily enough, Tony Abbott’s just don’t make me feel the same way…

She is Everywhere in Melbourne – and it is painful. All she did was wear a dress once and hook up with a footy player. Apparently she’s also attractive. And now she turns up to the opening of an envelope wearing the same dress in a different colour. Time to move on from J’Aton, darling.
Thankfully her husband’s team isn’t doing so well this season so we aren’t seeing as much of her.

She was hilarious on In Gordon St Tonight with Adam Hills, a very funny young lady, who is very passionate about preserving wildlife. She has a way about her, and I imagine that Steve would be so proud of how she is turning out.

Gosh she is absolutely gorgeous. So wholesome and fresh.
I don’t think she is dressed inappropriately, given she’ll be 14 in a couple of weeks. She hardly has a lot of cleavage and although we can’t see her bottom half, she probably has shorts or jeans on. I’ll admit she annoyed me when she was younger – she seemed precocious. But she has matured a lot (due to tragedies in her life I’m sure) and I think she is a FAB role model. She’s growing up to be a beautiful young lady and while I don’t want to say Steve would be proud, since I didn’t know him, I would be proud to call her my daughter/friend/sibling.

She turns 14 at the end of the month. Think back to when you were that age (for me that was 1988). That’s when I started to want to wear older clothes. I grew my hair long for the first time. By the end of my 14th year I started wearing just black. And I wasn’t the only one my age doing this. Girls were sneaking smears of makeup at school. Times were a changing.
Binding means “young girl” in an Aboriginal dialect but she’s not going to be a young girl forever.

We LOVE Bindi in our house, my four year old is obsessed, has posters of her, knows all the songs and whenever she has a DVD its either Bindi or old crocodile hunter movies- we are delighted- Bindi is a wonderful role model- her action figure says things like “you can change the world!” and “My family means the world to me”, she gets kids excited about being active and finding out more about the world around them. There is nothing about Bindi or the Bindi ‘brand’ that I have concerns over as a parent and I so so hope this craze sticks around a long time with for my daughter. (Plenty yet to grow into with the ‘Crikey’ magazine and Bindi’s chapter books).

I’ve been watching Wiggly Safari on VHS this week with my toddler (found a bunch of videos left over from my teen). It’s set at Aust Zoo and features the Irwins. She’s about four in the video (and it’s weird watching Steve Irwin knowing his fate). My girls grew up thinking she was great. Mia was talking earlier about ‘wholesome’ tween/teen role models – this is a lovely pic.

I agree with you anon. Bindi has always dressed age appropriate and seems to have a very wise head on her shoulders. Yes her life is different but she shows no signs of rebelling etc so I do believe she will continue to carry on work in her Dad’s name by choice not because she has too. Good on her, a shame more pre-teens don’t take up her example.

I think she seemed to have a wonderful childhood. She has always seemed like a well grounded girl. Her parents did a great job.
