Just read your piece on Cadel. I love my sport and watched all 21 stages of Le Tour including the last exciting conclusion. However, I admire your comments just as much as Cadel’s gutsy win. You are right that there seems to be this insane hero worship of sporting stars and I just don’t understand the lack of perspective when it comes to sport in Australia. I am shocked but not surprised by the reaction to your insightful comments on the Today show.
