Our new Bachelor, Matty J, has handed out his first rose and we weren't ready for this.

His televised search for love hasn’t even premiered yet, but already, Channel 10’s newest bachelor, Matty ‘J’ Johnson, has been caught handing out his first red rose. And frankly, we were not at all ready for it.

Don’t all of the florists in Australia know that their supply of single long-stem red roses are on lockdown between now and the sacred premiere episode of #Bachie2017 airing?

Apparently, they don’t, because on Wednesday, the former marketing manager was spotted handing over a red rose to none other than Channel 10 presenter and national icon Sandra Sully.

“Matty Update Number 6: He’s really bringing out all the tricks to stay on this news desk,” the Instagram image’s caption read.

And we’ve got to say if the 30-year-old was going to pick anyone to hand his heart over to, Sandra Sully’s a pretty good option.

Whether or not she’d be up for the extreme sports-style dates synonymous with The Bachelor, though, we’re not sure.

Matty J appeared on last year’s season of The Bachelorette and made it to Georgia Love’s final two before being sent home.

Then, earlier this year, news he would be the 2017 Bachelor broke, and naturally, was met with cheers from single women around the world.

“I feel so privileged that I’ve been given the opportunity to be The Bachelor. Without question, the most exciting part is the chance to meet the girl I’m going to spend the rest of my life with,” Johnson said at the time.
