Married At First Sight's Zoe and Alex have officially welcomed their first child.

Two years after meeting on national television, Married at First Sight stars Zoe Hendrix and Alex Garner have welcomed their first baby.

Named Harper-Rose Garner, their baby girl arrived on November 14, 2016 at 10:35pm, weighing 3.37kg and measuring 52cm, after Zoe was induced after she suffered pelvic problems.

But Zoe’s birth didn’t entirely go to plan.

The reality star revealed to Woman’s Day magazine that baby Harper was born with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice.

Zoe described the experience as “terrifying”, admitting that she was “so scared” of something going wrong.

After they got the all clear that Harper-Rose was happy and healthy, they were able to relax. The new parents shared the news – and the first adorable photo – on Instagram this morning.

“A slice of heaven on Earth!” Zoe wrote on Instagram, sharing the news with her fans.

“Harper-Rose is a dream come true and our hearts are exploding with love for out little girl!”

The 27-year-old new mum explained to the magazine that the moment was “a long time coming”.

“I still can’t believe she’s here. Sitting here holding something so precious – that is a part of me, that is my blood – is something I’ve always dreamt of, and I will cherish it forever,” she said.

Alex is equally smitten with the new girl in his life, adding that Zoe was “made to be a mum”.

“She’s stolen my heart in so many ways,” Alex said of his new daughter.

“I just feel like the luckiest man alive!”

The Melbourne reality television couple first announced they were expecting back in May, telling Woman’s Day“We’re absolutely over the moon.”

Taking part in season one of Channel 9’s controversial dating experiment show, Hendrix and Garner first met on the day of their wedding as perfect strangers. But their connection remained solid throughout the show, and incredibly, they were the only pair to last the distance and still call one another partners.

The arrival of Harper-Rose comes weeks after the couple suffered a pregnancy scare that landed Hendrix in hospital.

Posting an image of herself to Instagram at the time, Hendrix explained, "I had dramatically lessened movement from baby and after trying the hot shower/cold drink which always worked but didn't, we decided to go in for monitoring. We were terrified."

The new mum continued, "Everything is fine but I wanted to share and say to all other mums and dads out their [sic], don't hesitate to call your hospital and get monitoring. Listen to your body and follow your instinct. I don't like a fuss, but Iv [sic] learnt that lesson. Baby comes first."

The now mum-of-one then signed off, "Maybe our journey as mothers starts way before the birth."

With the first Married At First Sight baby now in the world, it's fair to say that the dating experts clearly knew what they were doing.

Congratulations Zoe and Alex!
