A beauty blogger's Instagram fans are 'disturbed' by her latest post.

The issue of children — both girls and boys — wearing makeup is one that never fails to divide.

Some say they shouldn’t wear it at all at a young age. Others argue experimenting with beauty products is a harmless form of self expression.

Makeup artist and beauty blogger Huda Kattan is witnessing this debate first-hand on one of her recent Instagram posts.

Kattan shared a photo of a little girl (presumably her daughter) wearing artfully applied eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick and false lashes, captioning it, “OMG she’s so cute.”

There’s no doubt as to the cuteness of the little girl, but plenty of Kattan’s followers were horrified by the makeup she’s wearing.

One labelled the photo “quite sickening”, while another wrote, “Whyyy? She is so small.”

A lot of commenters agreed the girl was too young to be wearing such detailed makeup and false lashes.

“NONONO. TO YOUNG. NOT ONLINE. EXPLOITATION. What about the rights of a child to childhood?” one argued.

However, plenty of followers were unconcerned about the lashes.

This isn’t the first time a photo of a young girl wearing makeup has caused a stir on Instagram, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Do you let your kids wear makeup? Why/why not?
