An entire town is grieving for little Georgia Lawson.

The tragic death of a child has left an entire town heartbroken. But in this crisis, the community has proven it will be there for those who need it.

The two-year-old girl with a cheeky smile and blonde ringlets was well known in her small country town.

As the daughter of prominent cattle transporters, locals dubbed her “little cowgirl”.

Over the weekend, Georgia Lawson’s tragic death left ripples of grief across the region.

On Saturday morning, the toddler was playing in the driveway of her home in the New South Wales’ Beechwood.

Tragically, her life was ended in an instant when she was struck by a reversing ute.

Police would not disclose the identity of the 28-year-old man driving the truck, but the death is not being treated as suspicious, Fairfax Media reports.

In the days that followed, the grief-stricken town began offering their respects to the Lawson family.

In the absence of an alternative, relative strangers started pledging financial support to the Lawsons in the vain hope it would bring them some solace in their hour of need.

Before the weekend was over, nearly $22,000 had been raised for the family.

This has now reached over $27,000.

A friend of the Lawson family, Chalyce Shepherd, told Fairfax that the entire town is grieving for Georgia.

“My heart is broken. The town is sad. I live at Beechwood and have to drive past [the property] everyday and I just cry,” she said.

“I am a friend who felt helpless just like the rest of the community [and] wanted to do something. If only money would bring her back.”

Ms Shepherd and several other members of the town started a crowdfunding campaign to help the Lawson family during their time of need.

The GoFundMe page is titled “Twinkle twinkle little star” and calls on people to help the family whose lives will never be the same after the loss of “their little angel.”

Georgia’s parents Tom Lawson and Lana Jones also have a little boy, younger than Georgia.

Ms Shepherd says all of the heartbroken community want to help out in some way.

“I think everyone tries to put themselves in [Tom and Lana’s] shoes to feel what they are feeling but we are obviously feeling nowhere near as much as what they are feeling,” she told Mail Online.

“Hopefully [the fundraising] will help them in some way.”
