Eating cake is glorious. It's time we remembered why.

As if we needed another reason to love dessert.

When was the last time you sat down with a big slice of cake and devoured every bit without a hint of “oh, naughty me”?

For many of us, it was our last birthday. Or before we began to fear carbs. Or, perhaps, when we were pre-teens who still worshipped sugar without a whisper of guilt.

Remember when every slice of cake was met with unadulterated joy?

If that sounds like you, these women’s photos (and stories) will help. They’re from a blog called EatTheDamnCake.com, created by a Brooklyn-based feminist named Kate who grew tired of NOT eating the sugary deliciousness.

She wouldn’t dare touch it in case her waist ballooned – until one day she decided that no, cake wasn’t something she was willing to give up on. So she didn’t. She baked.

She encouraged other people to bake and then send photos of themselves to her eating their treats. And all agreed: eating cake is excellent, and nothing to be ashamed of.
