Meet the Melbourne socialite who says he could have been The Bachelor.

Ever heard of Carlos Sala?

Neither had we but apparently he is the rich Melbourne socialite giving The Bachelor’s Sam Wood a run for his money.

With a handful of celebrity pals in his address book including Monatana Cox, Nick Giannopoulos and some of the cast members from The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Sala is reportedly a magnet for Sam Wood’s rejects – well that’s what he claims.

He’s been seen hand-in-hand with The Bachelor’s Emily Simms at two separate events across Melbourne last week and prior to that, rumours surfaced that he was holidaying in the Amalfi coast (which he flew first class to get there) with Laurina Fleure – a Bachelorette from last season.

Although there were no images of Fleure and Sala together, he was seen cuddling her beloved dog Bambi on Instagram – which is clearly enough proof to suggest that they are an item.

Except, well, Laurina says they aren’t. “The truth is I was friends with him and when he wouldn’t take no for an answer and accept that I didn’t want to be intimate with him I had to stop being friends.”

The businessman and hotelier has made appearances on The Real Housewives of Melbourne and was even rumoured to be one of the stars, Janet Roach’s, boyfriend.

Carlos claims that he was asked by Channel Ten producers to be this years Bachelor before they ended up with personal trainer Sam Wood but he said he turned down the role because they didn’t offer him enough money. A source told the Herald Sun this weekend that the Bachelor is paid $500 per week to live rent-free and romance women for a few weeks. The Bachelorettes are apparently paid $90 per day.

Want to know Sala’s trick to scoring himself a Bachelorette? Wooing them with expensive gifts and experiences which of course makes him more superior than other men.

“I highly doubt Sam Wood would have the budget to be able to pay for a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy and stay at a $100 million castle on the beach,” he told the Herald Sun.

Well, okay then, Carlos.

Have you seen Carlos make appearance on different reality TV shows such as The Real Housewives of Melbourne?
