The bride who tied her newborn baby to the train of her dress + walked down the aisle.

Any bride who’s already a mum has faced the tricky question of how best to include their kids in the ceremony. As junior bridesmaids, perhaps? As tiny ringbearers?

For one mum in the US, there was only one solution: to affix her newborn child to the train of her wedding gown — and literally drag the baby down the aisle after her.

Shona Carter-Brooks of Tennessee, who posted photos of the bizarre bridal moment on Facebook, has attracted criticism online after attaching her one-month-old baby Aubrey to the train to her Vera Wang wedding gown.

The move led some angry commenters to suggest she should be reported to child protection services, the Daily Mail reports.

“I am sorry but if I would have saw that I would have gotten out of my seat and taken that baby. That is truly dumb,” one person reportedly complained on the website Clutch.

But Ms Carter-Brooks defended her decision on Facebook, claiming the newborn was “covered by Christ” and “awake and well-secured” during the aisle.

She added:

People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most. We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose its power. So to the media, radio, news, and whomever else wanting to talk about what WE do here you go: Media Media I see how it works regardless the situation or purpose people gone have something negative to say! The answer is we do what we want when we want long as Jesus on our side everything worked out fine and gone continue to be fine.

She posted on Wednesday:

My father said, “Folks need to get a life!” Who asked for their opinion? He said, “I ain’t have to ask noun for nothing and it was my day!” He said media, family, or associates if you got a problem we can solve it and that’s not talking on Facebook. So with that being said, signing off now!

Ms Carter-Brooks’ friends have also praised the move as the sign of good parenting, with one commenter posting: “A GOOD mother takes her child wherever she goes, even down the aisle.”

“(Criticise instead) the individuals blowing smoke into the face of an infant or those allowing children to hold weapons, and, let us not forget the child arguing with his mother while calling her by her first name!,” the commenter posted.

Others posted, “I loved the idea of your baby on your dress that was something new that no one would have thought of” and “the princess tagging behind you it brought tears to my eyes.”

Right.

Tears or no tears, we’re reeeally hoping this whole baby-dragging thing doesn’t become the newest crazy wedding trend.

Do you agree?
