The latest wedding ‘dress’ trend has nothing to do with a dress…

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something… all-in-one?

You’ve seen them on red carpets, in the stores, and now jumpsuits are about to pop up at an unexpected location: weddings.

Yes, a jumpsuit. A bridal jumpsuit.

One of 2014’s hottest bridal trends is the wedding onesie – and we’re not talking about a novelty ‘Mr & Mrs’ matching garment you’d don on the honeymoon. We’re talking lace, plunging necklines and bows down the back, which you wear while exchanging vows.

American retailer, J. Crew recently debuted an ‘Eyelash Lace’ jumpsuit in their 2013/14 bridal collection, Viktor & Rolf designed an unconventional six-piece bridal capsule “Married” that included a jumpsuit, and Temperley Bridal also joined in on the onesie bandwagon, showing a ’70s-inspired jumpsuit in their recent collection.

According to editor-in-chief of Brides magazine, Keijia Minor, it’s not first-time brides who are considering the look.

“We are seeing a lot of destination brides considering the jumpsuit, a lot of brides who are getting married for the second time,” Minor said.

And if you’re a fan of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” you might’ve seen that Kim  Zolciak has already jumped on board this trend, wearing a jumpsuit for one of the three of the looks for her wedding to NFL player Kroy Biermann.

The bridal jumpsuit isn’t the first deviation from the traditional white dress we’ve seen in the last few years. Anne Hathaway and Kaley Cuoco got hitched in pink gowns, winter brides started wearing jumpers, and don’t forget the bridal bikini trend of 2013.

As for what we think? Not every bride wants to wear a dress, especially a poofy, frou-frou dress. It’s your wedding day; jumpsuit or no jumpsuit, wear whatever makes you feel awesome.
