Best and Worst: How has your week been?

Hello lovely Mamamia readers, it’s time again to offload the highlights and lowlights of your week.

This week I was lucky enough to intern here at Mamamia, so I’m going to start off by sharing my best and worst moments.

It took me 3 days to realise this was the Harbour Bridge

Worst:

To be honest I haven’t had too much time to have a ‘worst’ moment this week. I flew up from Melbourne on Sunday night and since then my days have followed the routine of waking up unnaturally early, interning with the lovely ladies at Mamamia, getting the bus back to my hotel and retiring to a sedentary position for the night. My week did start off a little disheveled however, so I’ll recap…

Monday was my first day here and I was a little nervous to say the least. I woke up at an hour I hadn’t greeted in a while, straightened my hair that had re-curled overnight (Sydney, you’re so humid) and fumbled my way onto the bus, finally making my way to the Mamamia office. It had worked out well… a little too well. After some brief introductions, I realised that I had left my laptop in my hotel room. Damn. Now I’m a usually a very organised person, so upon that realisation I panicked for a few moments, sped walked back down the street and hailed a cab to my hotel like I was Carrie in Sex and the City.

It all worked out in the end, of course. After running up to my hotel room and cabbing my way back to Mamamia, I was only a few minutes late … albeit significantly more dishevelled.

One of the many touristy shots swiftly posted to my Instagram.

Best:

Aside from being given the BEST opportunity to spend a week here at Mamamia, learning and getting involved (thanks heaps), I have also really enjoyed getting to know Sydney a little better.

I was 10-years-old the last time I was here and apparently I came home telling everyone that my favourite part of the trip was “my hot chocolate at Max Brenner”. This time around I planned on broadening my view of the city. I have to say Bondi Beach – although a little cliché – was definitely a highlight. Is it just me or is it funny how in Sydney people say swimmers and in Melbourne people say bathers? Just me? Alright.

Well that was my week. How was yours? Let us know in the comments.
