Kylie Minogue: Giuliana Rancic and I bonded over Breast Cancer

Every woman needs a support system when she's going through tough times. When Giuliana Rancic decided to go public with her breast cancer diagnosis, one of her inspirations was our very own Kylie Minogue, who revealed her own breast cancer battle to the world in 2005. On a recent episode of Fashion Police, the two ladies talked about the bond they share as survivors.

"I was diagnosed the same age as you, 36, last year," the E! News host told her guest star. "When you get diagnosed, you don't know what to do… you Google. I went online and I read your story, and it gave me the strength to go public as well."

When she realized that Kylie's story had helped her, Giuliana also realized that her own story might help someone else. Kylie revealed that she and Giuliana "did have a little chat" about their cancer journeys.

"You know, I know exactly where she is coming from because when you find yourself in that situation you are looking for things to grasp on to, so if there is a particular story you can relate to, or that can help you, then I'm honored that I'm able to do that for other people," said Minogue. "Now she's in the same situation. You pass it on."

Kylie said that sharing her story was part of her healing process.

"Obviously you want a silver lining from that gloom and doom, from that thunder cloud," she told cohost Joan Rivers. "I've had lots of letters and people coming up to me in the street, basically saying, 'You've saved my life.' What can you say about that?"

"It's so real, I don't know how you can not tell the story," Kylie continued. "I understand some people want to go through all that quietly, but for me it was not possible."

Kylie, who has just put out a new greatest-hits album, celebrated 6 years of cancer remission this year. Rancic, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall, had a double mastectomy in December.
